3-D Hydrodynamic Model Verification Using ADCPS

A physically comprehensive, hydrodynamic model of the East River has been used for a continuous three year simulation. As part of the calibration process, detailed vertical profiles of horizontal currents measured by ADCPs were used. The model was shown to capture the essential estuarine circulation physics very well by matching the observed vertical current profiles.
