Abstract:

A three-dimensional hydrodynamic model was applied to Los Angeles-Long Beach Harbors to determine tide- and wind-induced circulation. The model was calibrated and verified successfully with field data collected in 1987. Model results were used to drive a separate water quality model. As a demonstration of model use, the impact of a plan condition on harbor hydrodynamics was examined.
