Abstract:

Swedish building and construction work expanded very fast both technically and industrially during the two decades following 1950, domestically first, later also abroad. The 1980s has been a period of stagnation and towards the end a push towards intensified research and development. With the 90s ahead, great changes are taking place. The continued development of the construction industry must to an increasing extent be adapted to international competition and foreign market demands. This paper briefly describes the organization and directions of current Swedish construction technology research and development.
