Abstract:

The presence of algae might aggravate the already existing difficulties in beach restoration. The aim of this paper is to present additional beach restoration criteria based on algae hydrodynamics to assess in beach design and maintenance. Some of the considerations given herein have been based on day-to-day field observations of Levante Beach, located in Cabo de Palos (Mediterranean Sea, Spain), during the authors' summer vacations.
