Analysis of a Coastal Embayment: Holly Pond, Connecticut

by Kenneth J. Buckland,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Coastal Zone '85

Abstract:

A project to restore the quality of a degraded embayment was initiated as a result of public demands, available grant funding and an ability to obtain a broad range of professional assistance and detailed analysis through cooperation of several agencies and a long history of previous analysis. The Holly Pond project anticipates that a simple alteration of a physical condition; i. e. , raising the tidal gates, will create beneficial and significant changes in the complex biological and physical conditions.
