Abstract:

This paper presents a seismic fragility analysis of the Sheahan pumping building located in Memphis, Tennessee. In the analysis, seismic response is determined from the response spectrum analysis, in which the site-specific response spectrum developed by Hwang and Lee is used. Structural capacity is determined by using the criteria set forth in the AISC LRFD manual. Uncertainties in both structural response and capacity are quantified and Monte Carlo simulations are performed to construct the fragility curve.
