Abstract:

This proceedings, composed of two volumes, contains the papers presented at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Twelfth Structures Congress held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, April 24-27, 1994. This Congress was held in conjunction with the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) International Symposium. The papers contained in the proceedings correspond to the theme of the Congress, Worldwide Progress in Structural Engineering and include papers describing the structures and facilities to host the 1996 Summer Olympic Games which will be held in Atlanta. The content of the papers in the proceedings describe structural engineering topics ranging from research to practice regarding analysis, design, aesthetics, materials, and construction of structural systems.
