Abstract:

Infratechnologies support the practices of construction over the whole life cycle of constructed facilities. They include technologies for developing and applying information, standards, codes and quality assurance practices. These can be barriers or facilitators to advances in construction practices. Major thrusts in infratechnologies are described. Challenges and opportunities for construction are identified. Construction researchers and practitioners are encouraged to contribute to the improvement and implementation of infratechnologies as important elements of construction research, education and practice.
