Abstract:

This proceedings, Airport Pavement Innovations?Theory to Practice, consists of papers presented at the ASCE Specialty Conference held in Vicksburg, Mississippi, from September 8-10, 1993. It covers such topics as: 1) Techniques to improve airport capacity, 2) environmental issues, 3) pavement design and performance evaluation, and 4) landside issues. Case studies of new airports in the United States, Europe, and the Far East are also presented. With airport design and construction continuing to be a challenge to civil engineers, this proceedings contributes to the sharing of knowledge necessary for the development of technical improvements.
