Abstract:

Traditional techniques of recording field data, and evaluation usually result in voluminous paper work. To streamline this operation, Sverdrup pioneered the use of an innovative CADD-Graphics linked Database for the collection, storage, inventorying and retrieval of vast amounts of inspection data. This was accomplished through the use of hand-held, pre-programmed computers for data collection during inspection, optical disk technology for the storage and retrieval of scanned-in-photos of the actual areas inspected, and state-of -the art computer equipment and programs for sorting and analyzing data.
