Abstract:

In 1991, the Georgia Department of Transportation participated in a cooperative effort with the Federal Highway Administration to conduct one of a series of field evaluations of Stone Mastic Asphalt technology in the United States. Several test sections were constructed on I-85 in the northeast corridor of the state. These test sections will be evaluated for strength and field performance, and a proper determination will be made as to the appropriateness of Stone Mastic Asphalt for use in Georgia.
