Abstract:

ETBC is a menu-driven computer program which calculates monthly evapotranspiration (ET) using the USDA Soil Conservation Service version of the Blaney-Criddle formula, as described in SCS Technical Release No. 21 (TR-21). ETBC also estimates effective precipitation using one of two methods, and computes the monthly crop irrigation water requirement as the difference between ET and effective precipitation. Calculations are made for each of the individual crops selected by the user, and for the weighted mix of crops. In addition to tabular output, bar-graph plotting capability is provided. ETBC's interactive environment facilitates the creation and editing of data sets, and provides for greater efficiency in making multiple program runs.
