Abstract:

To meet the need for sufficient pleasure boat storage facilities in Japan, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. has developed a new type of boat storage system called 'Mitsubishi Automated Boats Storage System'. The introduction of an automated stacker crane to the system has permitted a marina to save labor leading to the rationalization of its management. The boat storage rack is a boat transfer system consisting of two rack structures in parallel, equipped with a stacker crane across the 2 racks. There is a ditch, as a guide for boats, in the middle of the rack system, and a branch ditch for elevating yachts.
