by David L. Hinchliff, Bureau of Reclamation, Denver, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Hydraulic Engineering

Abstract:

The Task Committee on Standards in Hydraulics has been given the responsibility of recommending whether or not the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) should formulate standards or guidelines for certain tasks, procedures, or designs in hydraulic engineering. The Task Committee will provide an annotated listing of currently available standards and guidelines and recommends that guidelines be established for the engineering associated with pump intakes, friction losses in closed conduits, bridge pier scour, and computer applications of surface water analyses.
