Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Waterpower '91: A New View of Hydro Resources

Abstract:

The design steps an engineer uses to develop natural wetlands to provide flood control while continuing to retain their natural functions will be analyzed. This paper will include a discussion of the wetland legislation that will sway the design, a step by step methodology to attain a wetland permit, and an analysis of design considerations which will successfully recreate the wetland characteristics while providing adequate storage capacity.
