Environmental Education in the British Virgin Islands

by Edward R. Smith,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Coastal Zone '91

Abstract:

The Conservation and Fisheries Department is a new department. Therefore, there has only been limited effect on the community thus far. Environmental Education in the said department is less than a year old at this writing. Just as in other parts of the world, any new concept, regardless of its import, will take time to gain acceptance in the community it is to benefit. For this reason, this paper is of limited scope. However, it indicates that there is much to be done and a dire need for such activity.
