Scour in Non-Cohesive Beds at Culvert Outlets

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Hydraulic Engineering

Abstract:

An empirical relationship was developed to estimate the depth of scour in non-cohesive material at culvert outlets. The scour depth is expressed as a function of mean particle size of bed material and flow parameters. The paper incorporates results of the previous studies and develops a generalized relationship between estimated scour depth, mean particle size of the bed material and flow parameters.
