Development of Suspended Sediment Concentration Profiles

This paper deals with the adjustment of suspended sediment concentration profiles in a fully developed, steady, uniform two-dimensional turbulent open channel flow without initial sediment load. The analysis starts from the convection-diffusion equation and follows an approach formulated by Shvets (1949) to solve boundary layer problems. The results extend previous analytical solutions by Mei (1969) and Hjelmfelt and Lenau (1970).
