Abstract:

A two-dimensional model of porous media is employed to calculate the reduction of the onset hydrodynamic pressure with the bulk modulus of pore water in reservoir sediment. However, the dynamic change in porosity and the rise of the Stoke drag in the sediment could augment significantly the pressure on the dam face during the ground motion.
