Abstract:

This paper describes the Model for Intersection Control Analysis (MICA). The Intersection Control Analysis is a comprehensive investigation that compares the collected data to the signal warrants presented in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (MUTCD) (1). The model is a macro driven Lotus 1-2-3 template. It interacts with the printgraph module of the program to allow the user to create and plot the needed graphs. The model guides the user through all of the steps starting with the required input data and ending with the warrant analysis. It also utilizes the designed sub-templates that provide the user with the input data screens.
