Abstract:

Poor communication of project control data between construction office and field supervision is a common industry problem brought on by poor understanding and lack of training in communication skills and use of abstract data, lack of a forum where lower level supervisors can present timely feedback to office staff and general cultural differences between office and field personnel brought on by the nearly exclusive use of engineering personnel in the office. To improve this condition, a meeting format covering specific topics is presented as a 'Weekly Cost and Schedule Meeting for Direct Labor Supervisors.'
