Abstract:
The three dimensional dispersion equation is integrated vertically to use in describing the suspension of silt from offshore tin mining. The resulting two dimensional equation includes external source term and fraction of silt deposited on bed, in addition to unsteady convective-dispersive terms. The dispersion equation is then solved by finite element method for irregular area which is a part of Phuket Bay, Thailand. Model results can fit field concentrations well.
