Abstract:

Rapid growth in the Austin metropolitan area kindled regualtions to protect the environment. Rigid enforcement of function-oriented guidelines and increased emphasis on productivity has caused engineering innovation to be stifled. This paper describes four cases where innovative approaches combine function and utility to provide side benefits for the client.
