Abstract:

This paper presents a software package which was designed to generate potential solutions for producing specific machine shapes as an application of a Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) system. The package consists of an application program and a database. The application program stores technical data in the database and retrieves the information from the database in order to evaluate operations and machine performance in terms of cost. The package creates a set of alternatives for the required operation. Each alternative shows the selected machines, the sequence of manufacturing processes, and other related information.
