Abstract:

A novel course is described which brings together faculty and students from Engineering, Communication and Art Departments. Students are introduced to a sophisticated computer art program, LUMENA and to some basic aspects of the design process and the elements of good presentations. The students work in interdisciplinary teams to solve socially important design problems and then to present those solutions in a formal setting making use of the LUMENA graphics.
