Abstract:

A two thirds scale non-ductile reinforced concrete frame strengthened by an external structural steel bracing scheme was constructed and tested in the laboratory. The frame was subjected to reversed cyclic loading. Brace buckling was sufficient enough to cause some permanent set as well as local buckling at the ends of some braces.
