Abstract:

Many advancements and innovations have developed recently in the utilization of trenchless excavation, techniques throughout the world. In many instances, design details and specifications have not kept pace with the technological improvements. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the adverse effects of plans and specifications that do not properly address project details, or are not properly enforced; and the degree of variation that exists in current specifications used by state highway departments.
