Abstract:

A large commercial mall and secondary developments were planned for construction in a karst area near Clarksville, Tennessee. A geotechnical exploration was conducted to evaluate the occurence of sinkholes and to delineate the general subsurface conditions. This data was used to formulate recommendations for the support of structures and to develop options for surface run-off water disposal.
