Abstract:

Hydrologic research has been conducted on the Reynolds Creek Experimental Watershed by the Agricultural Research Service for nearly 27 years. Some noteworthy instrumentation, developed to solve special problems in measuring precipitation, soil frost, snow accumulation and melt, subsurface flow, streamflow, and sediment transport are discussed in the paper. Results from selected long-term records and special research projects are briefly summarized as examples of operational watershed design, operation, and performance.
