Abstract:

Enhancements of the civil engineering curriculum at the University of Louisville are described. These enhancements are intended to help achieve a high degree of computer literacy in graduating civil engineering students. These enhancements include introduction of two computer specific courses into the curriculum, one to teach computer science fundamentals and one to synthesize engineering and computer knowledge acquired during the first four years of school. Emphasis is also placed on incorporating computer usage in all remaining courses in the civil engineering curriculum.
