Abstract:

Rehabilitation of a 54-year old thin concrete arch-buttress dam was completed without interruption of power generation using pressure injection of an epoxy adhesive. This paper presents the case history of the investigations made in development of the rehabilitation program, the final methods selected, the results obtained, and the conclusions reached. Methods investigated and used to establish the concrete conditions and extent of rehabilitation required; prepare the structures for injection; establish materials, equipment, and techniques for injection; investigate and verify the adequacy of injection; and analyze and document the results are presented.
