More on Japan's Inland Sea Coastal Citizen Movements

Abstract:

In this paper, an attempt is made to update the information on the three coastal citizen movements in the Seto Inland Sea region of Japan that were prsented by this author at CZ'83, as well as to introduce two other movements now active in the area. The efforts of coastal citizens in Imabari City to thwart city government plans to fill the beautiful beach, known as Odagahama Beach, for port and industrial facilities are described.
