The Maryland Dredge and Fill Permit Process Handbook

by Jeffrey R. Hutchins, Maryland Dep of Natural Resources, Coastal Resources Div, Annapolis, MD, USA,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Coastal Zone '85

Abstract:

The current dredge and fill permit process in Maryland has become a complex procedure involving many agencies from each level of government. The process by which a permit is obtained for any dredge or fill activity has therefore, over the years, become long, tedious, and cumbersome. In an effort to try to make the permit process more efficient and to clarify the roles and responsibilities of the many agencies involved, the Maryland Coastal Zone Management Program has produced a new handbook.
