Abstract:

The scouring potential of the Yukon prodelta has been investigated. The results obtained from geologic, hydrodynamic and geotechnical considerations indicate that probable liquefaction is limited to the upper few meters in the central prodelta. It appears, however, that either prior liquefaction or densification from wave loading has significantly affected the distribution and behavior of the sediments within the prodelta.
