Abstract:

One of the most critical elements in engineering analysis and design is data management. Relational database systems have been proven to be an excellent tool for managing the voluminous amount of data and/or information pertaining to engineering projects. The processing capabilities embedded in the relational data model provide a useful means for data retrieval and data manipulation. This paper examines the potential use of a special purpose relational database system and its processing capabilities for engineering analysis and design.
