Part of: Structural Wood Research: State-of-the-Art and Research Needs
Abstract:
A brief overview is provided of the current mechanical fastening research base as background for a discussion of future research needs and priorities. A summary is presented of the current means of setting allowable design values for various common connection systems. The implications and inadequacies of these methods are pointed out. A brief summary of recent research efforts is also presented and problems common to all or several connection types are discussed.
