Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Structural Safety and Reliability

Abstract:

Multiple-site damage could cause a catastrophic structural failure of aged aircraft. A reliability analysis is proposed for an assessment of the capability of visual inspection on multiple-site damage. This paper describes the procedure of the reliability analysis to estimate an optimal inspection schedule. Several numerical examples are being computed to evaluate the proposed analysis by using a Monte Carlo technique.
