Abstract:

This paper discusses the applicability of the information integration method to optimum design of structures and the advantages of the above optimum structural design method over other existing methods. By this method, all the constraint requirements can be easily incorporated into consideration in the optimization process. As a simple example, the optimum design of a cantilever beam is shown, and the efficiency of this method is demonstrated.
