Abstract:

Phyto-covers are environmentally friendly and cost-efficient landfill barriers. Compared to traditional clay or geofabric caps, phyto-covers require less maintenance and are more friendly to local animal species. Using deep-rooted plants instead of short grasses provides several benefits. The plants help break down contaminants in the landfill and require far less maintenance and intervention.
