Abstract:

Concrete culverts have been used for over 100 years. In this period, the main design concern centered on structural and hydraulic adequacy of the culvert. Scour is a relatively recent concern for culvert design. This paper discusses the design concerns related to scour and the possible solutions for these conditions for concrete culverts.
