An Introduction to Taipei Suburban Sewage Collection and Treatment Systems

Abstract:

Taipei Suburban Sewerage System covers the lower Tansui River Basin located in Northern Taiwan The planning area (excluding Municipality of Taipei) consists of 14 township in Taipei County and Keeing City (the largest port city in Northern Taiwan). The planning area comprises approximately 69,700 hectares (ha), of which about 16,700 ha is covered under present Urban Planmng Land Use Regulations. The estimated population for the design year 2020 is approximately 4.2 million and the estimated sewage loading for the design year 2020 is 1,600,000 CMD, which included 1,330,000 CMD of domestic sewage and 270,000 CMD of industrial sewage. This paper introduces the sewage collecticn and treatment systems plan which is being construc1 for the Taipei Suburban Area.
