Abstract:

Few appropriate technology programs offer an engineering-based curriculum. The Drexel University program is rare in that it combines a solid engineering degree with a broad-based supplement of courses to provide insight into the problems of less developed nations. Adding a co-operative education component which takes students into the less developed areas of the world, gives this program its unique aspect.
