Abstract:

A system response approach which uses Fourier transform through a multiple-input/ single-output (MISO) nonlinear system to evaluate the model performance of verification and simulation reliability has been developed. This approach offers more insight into the actual physical behavior than the traditional statistical method does. To improve simulation reliability, a computational procedure was derived to examine model sensitivity and reduce uncertainty. The application showed that this approach proved to be an excellent tool for quantitatively evaluating the model performance and obtaining more reliable simulation results.
