The Secondary Inlet of the Eastside Pipeline Project

Abstract:

The subject of this paper is a design feature included in the current capital improvement program of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. This feature, the Secondary Inlet of the Eastside Pipeline, is a pipeline that branches off the main pipeline to provide a secondary means of delivering water to the Eastside Reservoir, the major component in Metropolitans $4 billion capital improvement program. This paper summarizes the Eastside Pipeline design teams findings and describes the evolution of the Secondary Inlet including the Inlets planning, engineering design, and operational functions.
