Abstract:

This paper presents a brief status report of research funded by the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP Project 21-3, Instrumentation for Measuring Scour at Bridge Piers and Abutments) to develop and test bridge scour monitoring devices. The emphasis of this research has been on fixed instrumentation. Phase II of the research project was completed in March 1994. Phase III will continue through March 1996.
