Part of: Modelling of Flood Propagation Over Initially Dry Areas

Abstract:

The paper details the numerical solutions adopted in the TELEMAC-2D code that solves the shallow water equations. The numerical choices have been driven by the need for computational efficiency to treat very large domains. Among the applications are flood propagation, dam break simulations and flow in estuaries. In these applications, propagation over initially dry areas and the drying of wet areas raise the most difficult problems.
