Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Computing in Civil Engineering

Abstract:

The paper presents techniques for augmenting communication among building designers by providing (1) interdisciplinary explanation facilities to visualize and annotate CAD models, such as, (i) identify form elements that are shared by multiple discipline models, and (ii) visualize the result of boolean operations applied (e.g., union, intersection) on multiple discipline models; and (20 discipline specific explanation facilities to create diagrams and annotate CAD models, such as, affected form, predicted behavior, required function.
