Abstract:

In this paper design aspects of expandable structures with incorporated cover plates are studied. These roofing elements can be made by single plates or by self-folding plates. In both cases it is possible for these elements to add to the final resistance of the dome. Also it was studied the problems related to their unfolding, and the effect of these roofing elements on their resistance. At the same time, specific examples of the possibilities of this system will be proposed.
