Abstract:
In this paper, the applicability of the mixed use of rigid and semi-rigid connections in the tall frame is discussed. It is tried. for 4-bay 8-storey frame to be numerically analyzed for 4 combinations of mixed use of connections, in which top- and seat-angle with double web-angle connections are used as semi-rigid. connections. All cases considered here give the building drift less than ?/H < 1/400 in which ? is building drift and H is frame height. Then, semi-rigid connections can be used in tall frame by rationally combining with rigid connections.
