Abstract:
The American Iron and Steel Institute has developed a package to aid in expediting the design of short-span steel bridges for use by owners, designers, fabricators, and contractors in bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects. This paper provides an in-depth review of this package which includes plans, details, and software for the design of simple-span, non-skewed bridge superstructures with spans that range from 20 to 120 ft.
